Decision Support System for Safety Stock and Safety Time Buffers in Multi-Item Single-Stage Industrial Supply Chains

چکیده
Safety stock and safety time are two well-known buffering solutions of material requirements planning (MRP) processes to mitigate against supply demand uncertainty. While the significance proper inventory in managing change has been extensively researched, chain management research on period gotten less attention. Earlier operations quantitative studies, particular, have often evaluated utilization such buffers separately, rather than combined. Considering dynamic demands stochastic timescales, authors present decision support system (DSS) that handle efforts integrate appropriate judgments at level multi-item single-stage multi -supplier industrial chains. The DSS concept is formulated as a mixed bi-objective approach optimizes upstream storage costs -service levels same time, presenting decision-makers with alternative not dominated feasible solutions.

Strategic Safety Stock Placement In Supply Chains
We consider a multi-stage production/distribution supply chain subject to stochastic demand. We formulate an optimization problem to determine where to place decoupling inventories, so-called strategic inventories, across the supply chain so as to minimize inventory holding costs subject to a service constraint for satisfying customer demand. We assume demand is normally distributed. For each s...
متن کاملIntegrated safety stock management for multi-stage supply chains under production capacity constraints
In the petrochemical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, supply chains typically consist of multiple stages of production facilities, warehouse/distribution centers, logistical subnetworks and end customers. Supply chain performance in the face of variousmarket and technical uncertainties is usuallymeasured by service level, that is, the expected fraction of demand that the supply chain ca...

Societies in developed countries depend heavily on the safe and secured operation of critical infrastructures such as energy, telecommunication, transportation, traffic and food and water supply, as well as social and medical care systems. Critical infrastructure (CI) can be severely damaged, destroyed or disrupted by technical failure (accidents), human failure (negligence), natural disasters,...

In Graves Willems (2000) we consider the problem of finding the optimal placement of safety stocks in a supply chain with bounded demand and guaranteed service times. We develop a dynamic programming algorithm for supply chains that can be modeled as spanning trees. The intent of this note is to correct an error in the algorithm. متن کاملSafety Stock Positioning in Supply Chains with Stochastic Lead Times
W study the safety stock positioning problem in single-product multistage supply chains with tree network structures, where each stage controls its inventory using an installation continuous-time base-stock policy. External demands follow independent Poisson processes, and unsatisfied demands at each stage are fully backordered. The processing (e.g., production) cycle times and transportation l...
